Can I still receive help if I don’t want Direct Payments?
Yes, if you prefer, the local council can arrange your care services for you. Direct Payments are just one option.
Can I stop using Direct Payments if they aren’t right for me?
Yes, Direct Payments are flexible. If at any point you decide they aren’t suitable, you can switch back to council-managed services.
Can I hire a family member as a personal assistant?
In some cases, you may be able to hire a family member who doesn’t live with you. This needs to be discussed and agreed upon with your local council.
